Olga Kat - Photo-review- Nigel in
Birmingham with the English Symphony Orchestra 24th July, 2005
On Sunday 24th of July I visited Nigel Kennedy's concert, to hear him playing Elgar (Violin Concerto B minor Op 61) and Mlynarski (Concerto No 2 in D for violin & orchestra) in Symphony Hall in Birmingham.
Never been in England, so never been in Birmingham before. The day before, on Saturday, I went to find out where I could find the hall. When I did I was very impressed by the enormous building as well as the nice poster that was hanging on the wall announcing the concert for the next day.
I brought my video-camera (as well as a very old-fashioned camera) and made a film of all my impressions.

I went inside and had a very nice chat with one of the stewards of the hall, and I asked her if it would be possible for me to have one of the posters of Nigel after the concert the next day.
Well, she couldn’t promise, but she would try.
Some pictures during the concert:

Indeed, they gave me the poster after the concert, which is now hanging in my study !
